JoePa reported the incident to the guy that oversaw the PSU PD. Again, I agree JoePa could have and should have done more here but I'm not about to make him the sacrificial lamb in all of this in my mind. Yeah, he fucked up and should pay with his job but all this outrage and bitching about JoePa rather than the main villians in all this just comes across as sanctimonius crap.

I find it hilarious Warner and I are questioned on if we would feel the same way about this if it was at Miami of Ohio. Would any of you? Would there be people in here screaming for whatever the coaches name is head for 10+ pages? Doubtful.

-Was he aware of the investigation into Sandusky in 1998?

-What did McQueary tell him specifically in 2002 about the alleged shower rape? Was Paterno told it was a rape or just horsing around or whatever the fuck?

-Did Paterno follow up with the AD at any point after passing the news up the ladder?

-Why did he not contact police in 2002?

-Why did he allow Sandusky to have use of PSU facilities including the football building up to last week?

-Was he ever spoken with by the AD or anyone else about a cover up?

Think about what you just said. You're saying Paterno is so trusting of those around him that he let an accusation of one of his assistance coaches raping kids in the PSU locker room go.

He didn't let it go.

I never said it wasn't a top down problem. I said i'm not sure yet. I have also said i'm leaning that way.

If it was Miami OH, it wouldnt be ten pages because nobody would give a shit. It's compelling because it's Penn St. But if I cared enough to look at the facts, i'd probably feel the same way. Maybe not. Idk.

I love that now we're saying that Joe Pa should get the benefit of the doubt since Penn State has always been perceived to be a "clean" program, unlike say, Miami (FL). Gee, I wonder if having an on-campus police dept. willing to cover up heinous crimes to protect the reputation of the program has anything to do with this perception of purity Penn State has fostered...
