JoePa reported the incident to the guy that oversaw the PSU PD. Again, I agree JoePa could have and should have done more here but I'm not about to make him the sacrificial lamb in all of this in my mind. Yeah, he fucked up and should pay with his job but all this outrage and bitching about JoePa rather than the main villians in all this just comes across as sanctimonius crap.

I find it hilarious Warner and I are questioned on if we would feel the same way about this if it was at Miami of Ohio. Would any of you? Would there be people in here screaming for whatever the coaches name is head for 10+ pages? Doubtful.

Penn St, Ohio St. Savvanah St, Blue Mountain St.. doesnt make this shit any less disgusting. Maybe the media makes less of a deal of it, but it doesnt change anything for me, nor should it for you or anyone else really. The amount of negligence involved by everyone here is quite disturbing, a lot of really disgusting, vile shit has gone on for a long time that could've easily been put a stop to with just a little bit of common sense and human decency, its mind boggling this was handled so poorly by so many people.

He reported it to two people. One of whom who actually oversaw the PSU PD.

My point is he let it go to the extent that it happened 9 years ago and during that time Sandusky had full access to the facilities during that time and the GA became an assistant coach. Common human decency would be to wonder what happened, no?

This isn't even about what Paterno knew or didn't know. An assistance coach was accused of raping a 10 year old in the PSU locker room and that same coach has a history of this sort of mess. At the very least Paterno should have made sure the accusation was investigated and and banned the coach from the facilities in the mid 90's and if not then when it happened again in 2002. I just don't understand what there is to "wait for". If you're a coach you don't let assistant coaches rape kids in your locker room......not even accusations of it!

If you want the satisfaction of knowing that Joe Paterno is less responsible then someone else, then whatever works for you, but everyone who knew could've done more and they didnt, and for that they're all responsible.

To be clear. I don't really care about PSU one way or another. I get no "satisfaction" of any kind out of this.

Mixed up some info I think.

The accused rape was in 2002 when Sandusky was a former coach.

What happened in 1998 wasn't a rape, but seriously inappropriate conduct with a boy in a shower nevertheless. We don't know whether Paterno knew about the 1998 deal.

Paterno knew, and he essentially fired the guy. It's likely the reason he fired him.

Anything that happened after was while Sandusky was not under the employ of Paterno. It is entirely possible that Paterno was disgusted with Sandusky, didn't want him around, and when McQueary came to him in 2002, he went to the brass and basically said, "I told you fuckers, now do something about it". It seems like the brass was more interested in covering up for Sandusky than Paterno ever was. The question I want answered, is why? And what exactly was the dynamic of the Paterno/Sandusky relationship after 1998, and after 2002? Remember, 1998 was mearly an allegation. You can't judge anyone on what we know now. He fired the guy based on an allegation. The school banished him in 2002. What I want to know, is why was he still hanging around?
