Getting away from the blame/culpability game, I have a question here.... To me, this is the worst American college scandal in at least the last 40 years. In the sense of what the perpetator is being accused of - raping and sexual assaulting children. I guess perspectives on that can vary, but to me, that's one of the absolute worst things a human can possibly do, short of murder. I think most people find the child abuse that Sandusky is accused of worse than any special benefits, cheating, drugs, or even players sexually assaulting other adults... So my question is has there been something worse? Can anyone think of a more damaging, horrific thing to happen on a univesity campus?

The only things that come to mind are Kent State, the Marshall Plane Crash, VaTech/NIU/Texas shootings, I'm sure there some heinous civil rights issue at some points but no huge evnts come to mind right off the bat.

Not saying these are worse just throwing some out there.....

Maybe the Kent State Massacre or the Tower Shooter in Texas...not sure how to compare but it's up there

My lord. It's funny to me that guys like Firsttimer get called demented or stupid or what have you in this thread at this point. You might not agree with him or W2B, but all of their posts have been well-argued and to the point, and none of them have consisted of a fucking borderline meltdown like numerous people in this thread. I swear I've never seen an argument go on for so long where one side keeps saying the same thing and then continues to be shocked when the opposition says "That's fine, I just want more information on *blank*." It makes some of you sound like you're 15 years old or silly. And the not-so-clever sarcastic little barbs do nothing for anyone.

The moral of the story is though, there is nothing new being argued here. You can throw in any number of hypothetical situations or guesses, but literally at this point it's nothing that anyone hasn't already heard. Now we wait and see what Paterno has to say for himself, and we go from there.

Well good to know this thread is still spiraling in nonsense. An argument that remains the same is a pointless argument. I am going to go out on a limb and guess that people that want to wait for more information are going to continue to want to do that, just as people like NAHSTE and Kuzzy are going to continue to inflate their post counts saying the SAME THING and asking the SAME QUESTIONS, over and over and over and over and over...
