Also I'd like to know more about the former DA who originally investigated Sandusky and years later who suddenly disappears.....then they find his work issued computer at the bottom of the ocean.....also found internet searches on his home computer with information about ways to destroy a hard drive

What happened to him and what the hell was on that hard drive?

I'm not really sure how relevant that story is. A similar thing happened to his brother in the 90's (although, that was ruled a suicide). He failed to prosecute to Sandusky, about seven years before his disappearance, I doubt the stories are even connected.

It has definitely crossed my mind though even at this point it'd be a huge shock. However, I am not shocked that Sandusky is not the only pedo involved in violating the Second Mile children. Of course there were other creepy fucks who were doing this too. There's no way this many people harbor a child rapist if he's the only one. The Penn State PD notified Second Mile of the 1998 and 2000 incidents. Considering Sandusky started that program himself, I fail to see how that was a worthwhile resolution.

Basically Second Mile was an organization designed to steer little boys towards Sandusky and his fellow monsters, whoever they are. There is no way this many state leaders and university officials would continue to turn a blind eye to this guy's crimes unless there was a seedy culture of this. Why do all this to protect one man? If it was just him, they could have outed him as a rogue years ago.

There was already a culture of indifference towards Sandusky's actions, maybe even a culture of encouragement, is it that much of a stretch to suggest that there might actually be a seedy underbelly of kid diddling?

If I were the parents of one of those kids I would be a raving lunatic and I would want the head of every PSU official involved including Paterno...

i have 3 kids young kids, (14,14 and 12) and i would spend the rest of my life in jail to protect them from this act of crime.

i think it was beyond irresponsible for Paterno to "turn his cheek" and ignore it. he not only should be fired but should also be charged for aiding and abetting. its just ridculous to comprehend getting off with just being Fired.
he is just as guilty.......plain and simple.

who cares about those dumb kids protesting.....they have no clue about real life family matters and the innocence of young children.

Reading through some of the grand jury report about the incident with victim 6 in 1998, there are a couple people I think have some explaining to do regarding Sandusky.



Where do the 2 police detectives, the investigator in the Dept of public welfare, and the Centre County District DA fit in all this? What responsibility falls on them?

they all should be brought up on charges......

they will never say or admit what they he found/saw/etc.....

This is one of the saddest weeks in the history of Penn State. It has been difficult to comprehend the horrific nature of the allegations that were revealed in the Attorney General's presentment last week. As a member of the Penn State community for 34 years, as a parent, and as a grandfather, I find the charges as they have been described to be devastating, and my heart goes out to those who have been victimized and their families. This is a terrible tragedy for everyone involved, and it will take some time to bring a measure of understanding and resolution to the community.

In addition to the legal process under way, Penn State's Board of Trustees has authorized a full investigation "...to determine what failures occurred, who is responsible, and what measures are necessary to insure that this never happens at our University again and that those responsible are held fully accountable." As those involved pursue their cases, I also urge you, as Penn Staters, to be patient, to avoid speculation, and to refrain from passing judgment until the facts are known.

As you are now aware, the Board of Trustees has asked me to serve as the interim president of Penn State effective immediately. I undertake these duties with a firm sense of resolve, and I ask for your support as we move forward. And move forward, we must and we will.

Penn State has a long and storied tradition that has endured for more than 150 years. Our roots are deep, our constitution is resilient, and the importance of our work is as vital today as it was last week - perhaps even more so in the face of such adversity. We are 96,000 students, 46,000 employees, and more than a half a million alumni. We are 24 campuses across the Commonwealth and a World Campus. I wouldn't call Paterno the "fall guy," as cleaning house requires everyone being let go. I may be wrong, but I believe at this point the only person that we know of that still has a job is McQueary, but I wouldn't expect that to be the case much longer.

They said they haven't even discussed letting him go.

What im most baffled with ATM is why hasnt something been said about McQueary? Surely between now and Saturday SOMETHING has to be said? Or addressed? It really is a shame thats not getting more coverage here, Penn St is really dropping the ball by letting him be on the sideline this weekend.

How does this not anger anybody else that the man who witnessed the crimes and did not go to police is still employed but yet you guys are calling for Paternos head even though he did way more than McQueary. Not to mention McQueary didn't even tell Paterno what he really saw. This whole story being centered around Joe Paterno is sickening. Many people don't even know the name of Sandusky and certainly most don't know the name of McQueary.

KNOWING that Sadunsky was invovled with Second Mile and still idly sitting by (so many people) its almost impossible not to believe that others werent doing the same shit, or atleast completely and utterly hiding the shit. This is probably going to go far beyond negligence in the end and right into encouragement, as you said. Im not sure what details could possibly come out to better this situation at all.

Also McQueary still having a job is alarming. Maybe he has more he can blow the whistle on and they are scared of what he knows?

Thank you. This is the post I was trying to make last night but was having trouble figuring out how to word it properly so that someone like NAHSTE wouldn't come over with caps lock on calling me names, making sarcastic comments, etc.

To me, although obviously not on the same scale as the children that were touched/raped, Paterno has become a victim of this situation.

A man who broke no laws and reported the incident he was made aware of. Plus, we STILL don't know the extent of what he was told by McQueary, or the extent of what he knew.

With something this serious, especially when it comes to man who has kept his hands clean for so long, sorry, he has earned benefit of the doubt with me until he is given a chance to speak.

Paterno is the prime definition of a "fall guy". Why? Read below....

The fact that they have so far, only removed Spanier and Paterno from their positions, tells me that Paterno getting relieved of his duties in the abrupt manner he was had a little more to do with just this issue than it was...they've been wanting Joe to "retire" for a decade. They finally had an easy out, and took it, and they'll worry about everyone else later on.

Boom. This was their shot to finally get rid of the old man.

It's amazing to me how Paterno is the lightning rod here, when you have police who did nothing, DA's who did nothing, WITNESSES TO RAPE who did nothing, parents who did nothing, school admins who did nothing.

The hollier than thou crowd keeps talking about how "this isnt about football, this is about the victims". BULLSHIT. The lynch mob has made this entirely about football by centering the attention on a guy who is waaaaaaay down the list of people culpable for this mess - the head football coach. We made it about football, and not about the victims, by focusing on the highest profile person involved. It's actually pretty disgusting.

Joe Paterno is not an evil person. Sandusky is the evil fuckwad here. Paterno is by and large a good guy.

he so far from being Innocent. again, if people had children of their own, it would be easier to relate. he is just as guilty....its called aiding and abetting, harbouring a Sex Offender. you might as well have been there and committed the crime yourself.
