PSU's outside general counsel was Wendell Courtney in 1998 and up until January 2010. He was also pro bono counsel for The Second Mile prior to 1998 and up until this past monday when he resigned. He was aware of the allegations in 1998 and that investigation, although no charges were brought against Sandusky.

This just occured to me and no one else has brought this up as far as I know. What the hell was Sandusky's wife doing through all of this? As much as we've been arguing back and forth about what Paterno and the administration knew and didn't know, you would have to think his fucking wife knew what was going on.

She had to know the investigations were happening, but yet she continued to allow Sandusky to bring in young boys stay at her home after the fact?

One of Sandusky's daughter-in-law's went to court pretty quickly and got a protective/restraining/whateverthefuck order to prevent him from being able to spend time with the grandkids.

Victim 4 was one of the kids featured in that coaching video from which I pulled the screenshot. Now I feel bad for thinking it was funny. He was a long time victim of Sandusky according to the testimony. In addition to promises of walk-on status, he received a lot of free gear, trips to bowl games, etc. to bribe/coerce him into continued sexual contact with Sandusky. In other words, Sandusky exploited these kids' undying love of Penn State football to pacify them while being subjected to his terror. I definitely think the NCAA should punish Penn State, if nothing else for lack of institutional control.

A program should be held accountable for what happens at its headquarters, especially when it can be proven that at least twice Sandusky's superiors were aware. The NCAA should at the very least impose scholarship restrictions and a television ban, IMO.

true....i wouldnt totally disagree.
but most "known convicted" serial criminals were single.

not to mention that back in 98', a Detective and PSU Security showed up to his house to question him. i would lean towards the wife being home along with the kids as well. if i got that part of the tabloids correct??

Paterno = scapegoat. PSU board bowing to media pressure and the lynch mob public not interested in facts.

I hate to think they fired Paterno based on noting more than speculation of what he might have known, while people implicit to the cover up, based on facts, are being paid by the university and are being represented by university lawyers.
