Good point. I remember a few years back the Ravens had a bounty on Hines Ward. They said it to everyone, and nobody did anything about that. Did the league think they were being facetious?

I don't care if they decide to regulate here or regulate dirty hits/illegal hits that's the league's call. But to be a fan of the sport that has violence as a key ingredient and then cry like a girl over this crap is downright hypocritical.

If the hit is illegal, then the officials and the NFL should impose strict penalties, making the bounty's meaningless, if the hits are legal but dirty, then the rules need to be changed to eliminate the dirty hit. The hit being legal or not is incredibly important. How can you not see that.

Make the fines higher, give meaningful suspensions. That won't discourage players from illegal hits? And in essence discourage the effectiveness and use of bounty's?

And how is that stance condoning bounty's. I'm just not over-reacting to them. Sure impose high penalties to teams that have that as informally part of their program. But try to make the Bounty's ineffective.

All you had to do in the Braun thread was say, this is why I think he's guilty, but I understand why you would want to wait to see if MLB gets the Arbitrators ruling reversed. I think it's fine that you want to be more cautious and want the process to play out. And I respect that you want safeguards in place to minimize the chance of convicting an innocent person. Here is why I think Braun will end up being found guilty.

I don't watch every Saints game, but I'm pretty sure they did. Referees don't catch every penalty anyway. Even if they didn't, you dumbasses are fine with the incentive to do it. You're retarded if you think that $10,000 didn't give somebody more incentive to hit a guy low or twist an ankle under a pile.

And you see the hit on Favre? One guy went low, the other went high. Looked pretty illegal to me.

If they are illegal hits then the officials should be flagging them. If the officials miss it, the league should be reviewing film and dole out fines and suspensions and then the $1,000 or even $10,000 bounty becomes meaningless. That statement in no way says don't fine or punish a team found giving bounties.
